The Diamond Guide
The four C's, the shapes, the certifications — everything you need to choose with confidence.
The four C's
Every diamond is graded against four characteristics. Together they determine its rarity, its beauty — and its price.
Cut
The most important C. Cut governs how a diamond returns light as fire and brilliance. We trade size for a superior cut, every time.
Colour
Graded D (colourless) to Z. The less colour, the rarer the stone. We hand-select D–G for a bright, icy white.
Clarity
The fewer inclusions, the rarer the diamond. We favour VS and above — flawless to the naked eye, brilliant in any light.
Carat
A measure of weight, not size. Paired with an excellent cut, carat becomes presence — light made tangible.
Every stone,
independently graded
Each RitzBits diamond above 0.30ct arrives with a certificate from the GIA or IGI — the world's most respected gemological laboratories.
Your certificate documents the precise cut, colour, clarity and carat of your stone, along with a unique laser inscription matching it to its report. Brilliance you can verify.
The diamond shapes
From the timeless round brilliant to the architectural emerald cut — each shape tells a different story.
Round Brilliant
The classic. Maximum fire and sparkle, loved for over a century.
Oval
Brilliant facets in an elongated silhouette that flatters the finger.
Emerald
Long, elegant step-cuts for an understated, architectural glamour.
Cushion
A soft, romantic square with rounded corners and vintage charm.
Princess
A modern, fancy square — sharp, contemporary brilliance.
Pear
A teardrop blending round and marquise for a graceful point.
Marquise
A regal, elongated shape that maximises perceived size.
Radiant
Trimmed corners and brilliant facets — fire meets geometry.
Diamond questions, answered
Cut, without question. A well-cut diamond of modest colour and clarity will out-sparkle a poorly cut stone with better grades. Cut governs how light enters and returns to the eye — it is the difference between a diamond that glows and one that looks lifeless.
Yes. We offer both natural and laboratory-grown diamonds, each fully certified. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds and offer exceptional value — our gemologists will happily guide you through the choice.
Buying just below popular weights (e.g. 0.90ct instead of 1.00ct) can offer significant savings with a visually similar size. Prioritising cut over carat also ensures maximum brilliance. We tailor every recommendation to your budget.
All diamonds above 0.30ct are accompanied by a GIA or IGI certificate, documenting the four C's and a unique inscription matched to the stone. Smaller accent diamonds are quality-assured by our in-house gemologists.
